Marlene Otero is an associate in the Seattle office of Holt Woods & Scisciani LLP. Marlene focuses her practice defending Washington businesses and individuals in a variety of complex civil litigation, including claims of construction defect, premises liability, personal injury, and professional malpractice.

Before joining Holt Woods & Scisciani LLP, Marlene worked at the King County Department of Public Defense, where she gained extensive trial experience. Prior to that, Marlene worked as a corporate associate at a business law firm, where she reviewed and drafted contracts and advised clients on a variety of business matters.

Marlene graduated cum laude from Mercer University School of Law. While in law school, Marlene served as Secretary for the Mercer Law Trial Lawyers Association and as a Features Editor of the Mercer Law Free Press. Marlene interned at both the San Diego and Atlanta Federal Defender offices and spent her last year on Mercer Law’s Habeas Clinic, defending clients on habeas petitions in Superior Court. Marlene focused her undergraduate studies in the areas of political science and sociology, with a concentration in pre-law.


Outside of the office, Marlene enjoys hiking, discovering Seattle’s restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.
