Nicolas Ball is an associate attorney in the Portland office of Holt Woods & Scisciani LLP. Nicolas focuses his practice on defending Oregon businesses and individuals in complex civil litigation, specifically in matters involving construction defect, construction liens, dram shop, personal injury, and defamation.

Nicolas graduated cum laude from Portland’s Lewis & Clark Law School. During law school, Nicolas worked as an extern for the Honorable Judge Erika L. Hadlock of the Oregon Court of Appeals, where he enjoyed learning about effective advocacy and the interpretation of Oregon law. Nicolas served as Managing Editor of the law review journal Environmental Law, and received a pro bono award for his work at Lewis & Clark’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. At Lewis & Clark, Nicolas was honored as a Douglas Newell Scholar, and received the Federal Tax Law Certification. Before pursuing his legal career, Nicolas worked in the foreclosure and asset management department of a major banking institute, and received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas.


During his free time, Nicolas enjoys exploring Portland’s coffee shops and restaurants, searching for good books in Powell’s, and spending time with his family and friends.
